Microsoft Security-Related Developer Exams in the Works
Microsoft plans to introduce two new security-related exams that
will count as electives for the MCAD/MCSD for .NET and MCDBA designations.
These exams are the:
70-330 - Implementing Security for Applications with Visual Basic
.NET
70-340 - Implementing Security for Applications with Visual C# .NET
While in beta, which is expected to be between April 21 and May
4, 2004, each exam number will have a prefix of 71- rather than
70-. Microsoft recommends three or more years of related experience
before tackling the exams.
According to Dan Truax, Director, Business and Product Strategy
for Microsoft Learning, there are no plans for a security-related
developer certification specialization because "very few developers
focus purely on security within their job role, so the need for
a security specialization for developers is not as clearly defined."
